“You’ll never know love until you have had a child.”

While I’m sure the love and bond from having a child is unexplainable, please stop telling women the concept of love will never be understood unless they birth children.

As a 35 year old woman with no children and no plans in sight, I fully know love.

I know the feeling of that first love.

I know the overwhelming love felt when you meet someone new who “clicks” with you.

I know the love felt as you hold someone’s hand who was just diagnosed with cancer.

I know the love of talking with a friend at 2 a.m. because they felt alone in the world.

I know the love of a nephew who looks up at you and trusts you to hold him and comfort him.

I know the love felt when someone remembers the tiniest detail about you and it leaves you with the biggest smile.

I know the love of a pet you’ve rescued, cuddling up next to you and knowing in your heart that they were the one who actually rescued you.

I know the love felt when eye contact is made and someone tells you they got your back.

I know the love of picking your cousin up off the floor after he found out his mom passed away.

I know the love of holding your mother’s hand as she takes her last breath in this world.

I know love because I’ve known pain, sorrow, joy, acceptance and loneliness.

Love is more than marriage and children. Love is in all parts of life. So please do not tell me I’m lacking love in my life because I’m not a wife or mother.

My heart is FULL of love. ❤️
